The natural tendency to follow others or a group in pursuing various things of own is termed as herd mentality. Many of us can relate to a time when our parents or people in our close circles recommend doing one thing over the other by giving an example of a person/relative who was successful doing the same. In reality, we are just following the crowd. We are not assessing on what our passion and purpose is as an individual.
It is not wrong to try multiple things in short term to figure out what you like to pursue for the long term. But the people around you may try to stop you, deviate you from the path for being and doing different from the pack. When you know deep inside that the things you are doing matters to you very much, you need not worry about others. When you have not failed in something, you believe that you know everything which can stop you from learning and growing in life.
If you look at what is happening globally to the economy, people with money are looking for the next big jackpot through investments. The governments are under immense pressure to revive the demand in the market. The people with little or no money are trying hard to save what is left or follow the herd blindly. It is time to break the inhibitions and look beyond the lottery system to build a sustainable future for all!
